Their sire Thrym is a son of the incredible Grimm van de Hoge Laer, via long saved frozen semen, out of a Grimm grandaughter. Grimm is perhaps the most famous, exceptional dog in the history of the Belgian Shepherd. Bred by Jean Louis Vandenbemden, and owned by Firmin and Paula Aertgeerts, he was born May 25, 1982, and went to the Rainbow Bridge on February 28, 1995. He was a Champion International, Champion of Belgium, France, Holland & Luxembourg, and a Reproducer Elite (RE), siring many outstanding Belgians who went on themselves to become RE's. His type and character were hugely influential in breeding programs worldwide. Marissa has been the foundation of the BasqueLaine Tervuren breeding program. She has produced top quality puppies with working ability and beauty combined, and she comes from some of the most outstanding dogs ever bred in Europe. The Gangsters carry a lot of history in their genes! Full of confidence and determination, these boys are brash and funny. They are Da Boyz!

BasqueLaine-Montage Capone PT "Mr. Big" lives with Kate Sreenan in Alabama, and is co-owned with Montage and BasqueLaine. Big is a wonderful sheep herding dog, with a powerful but calm style. He has his pre-trial title and is now working toward trial level. Big is also started in tracking and obedience. Other plans for him include conformation after he is mature. Alas, Big is does have criminal tendencies. He is quite accomplished at Counter Surfing and may go for his CS title soon. Risky Kelda Terv girl is doing her best to keep him in line but Speck the Sheltie is Big's little henchman. |
| BasqueLaine-Montage Mafioso RN, CGC, TDI "Vinnie" is owned by Patty Naimo in Manchester NH. He is Patty's first Belgian and she is having a grand time trying many new activities with him. He is well along the way in basic obedience training and earned his CGC at just 8 months old. He went on to become a wonderful therapy dog. At 13 months, he passed the Therapy Dogs International Test (TDI) and became a valued member of Caring Paws Therapy Dogs of New Hampshire, working mainly with war veterans and senior citizens. At age 4, Vinnie took therapy dog work to another level. HE passed a lengthy screening and application process for the Catholic Medical Center Hospital in Manchester NH and was approved to visit cancer ward patients. In order to do this kind of work, the dog must be not only well behaved and well trained but also exceptionally stable, reliable and sensitive. Dogs and handlers must be especially careful around immune-compromised patients. Vinnie is definitely a gangster with a heart of gold! I am so very proud of Vinnie and Patty forall the help and love they bring to people in need. Besides therapy dog work, Vinnie is also an excellent performance dog with lots of drive and focus. Patty does flyball and sheep herding with him. He is also an excellent rally-obedience dog. He made his Rally-O debut at the 2009 ABTC National Specialty with a 2nd place and score of 196! He then earned back to back Qs for his Novice title. |

BasqueLaine-Montage Wise Guy CGC "Louie" is owned by Susan & Burton Dodd in Atlanta GA, and is co-owned by Kelley Hoffman. At the extremely young age of 6 months, this puppy proved that even a wise guy can be a Canine Good Citizen. Louie is the Dodd's first Tervuren and is started in agility. In spite of his CGC, Louie seems destined for a life of crime as he loves to steal wallets out of bags and pockets and then carefully take out the money and shred it. What's next? A bank? |
| BasqueLaine-Montage Goodfella "Lefty" is owned by John Faier in Chicago IL. He is John's pet-companion. John is a professional photographer and experienced Belgian owner so we get some great photos of Lefty! While Lefty got off to a slow start in crime activities, he is now catching up to his bad boy littermates Mr. Big and Louie. He has decided to specialize in electronics theft. He once swallowed (and safely passed) a remote control. There must be easier ways to get this stuff across the border! |

BasqueLaine-Montage The Enforcer "Tough Guy" is owned by Selene and David Whalen in Belleville, MI, and their children Devin and Elise. Tough Guy is a soft-hearted gangster with a very sweet and affectionate nature. He is the Whalen's first Tervuren and is a much loved family companion. |
