The Gangsters were co-bred with Kelley Hoffman BasqueLaine. Their sire Thrym is a son of the incredible Grimm van de Hoge Laer, via long saved frozen semen, out of a Grimm grandaughter. Grimm is perhaps the most famous, exceptional dog in the history of the Belgian Shepherd. Bred by Jean Louis Vandenbemden, and owned by Firmin and Paula Aertgeerts, he was born May 25, 1982, and went to the Rainbow Bridge on February 28, 1995. He was a Champion International, Champion of Belgium, France, Holland & Luxembourg, and a Reproducer Elite (RE), siring many outstanding Belgians who went on themselves to become RE's. His type and character were hugely influential in breeding programs worldwide. Marissa has been the foundation of the BasqueLaine Tervuren breeding program. She has produced top quality puppies with working ability and beauty combined, and she comes from some of the most outstanding dogs ever bred in Europe. The Gangsters carry a lot of history in their genes! Full of confidence and determination, these boys are brash and funny. They are Da Boyz!

Mr. Big

Mr. Big
BasqueLaine-Montage Capone "Mr. Big" lives with Kate Sreenan in Alabama, and is co-owned with Montage and BasqueLaine. He is started in sheep herding and has a calm, balanced herding style. Other plans for Big include conformation, obedience and tracking. Alas, Big is does have some criminal tendencies. He is quite accomplished at Counter Surfing and may go for his CS title soon. Risky Kelda Terv girl is doing her best to keep him in line but Speck the Sheltie may become Big's little henchman.

BasqueLaine-Montage The Enforcer "Tough Guy" is owned by Selene and David Whalen in Belleville, MI, and is co-owned by BasqueLaine and Montage. The Whalen family also includes two children Devin and Elise. Tough Guy is the gangster with the heart of gold. He has a very sweet and affectionate nature. He is the Whalen's first Tervuren. While he is mainly their much loved family companion, he may try his paws at obediencce or agility down the road. Tough Guy

Louie

Louie
BasqueLaine-Montage Wise Guy CGC "Louie" is owned by Susan & Burton Dodd in Atlanta GA, and is co-owned by Kelley Hoffman. At the extremely young age of 6 months, this puppy proved that even a wise guy can be a Canine Good Citizen! Louie is the Dodd's first Tervuren and they are already plunging into activities with him. He is now in a rally-obedience class and will be going on to try beginner agility. He may also venture into the show ring. In spite of his CGC, Louie seems destined for a life of crime as he has taken to stealing wallets out of bags and pockets and then carefully taking out the money and shredding it. What's next? A bank?

BasqueLaine-Montage Goodfella "Lefty" is owned by John Faier in Chicago IL. He is John's pet-companion. John is a professional photographer and experienced Belgian owner. We look forward to lots of great photos! There are some Terv folks in the area who are wonderful herding trainers. We hope to arrange a meeting so Lefty can try sheep herding. While Lefty got off to a slow start in crime activities, he is now catching up to his bad boy littermates Mr. Big and Louie. He has decided to specialize in electronics theft. Most recently, he swallowed (and safely passed) a remote control. There must be easier ways to get this stuff across the border! Lefty

Vinnie

Vinnie
BasqueLaine-Montage Mafioso CGC, TDI "Vinnie" is owned by Patty Naimo in Manchester NH, and co-owned with Kelley Hoffman. This is Patty's first Belgian and she is having lots of fun with him. Vinnie is well along the way in basic obedience training and earned his CGC at only 8 months old. He recently began his performance career in flyball and is doing really well. At only 13 months old, he passed the rigorous Therapy Dogs International Test (TDI) and Patty is really looking forward to doing therapy dog work with him. Vinnie must be one of those good guy gangsters, this is a really big accomplishment for such a young dog and we are very proud of him.
